Lead Drone, BroodMinder

Rich is an engineer, a product designer, and an avid beekeeper. After keeping bees for 8 years, he became increasingly curious to know what was going on in his hives when he wasn’t there. BroodMinder was born out of that curiosity. Partnering with a team of like minded professionals, Rich has used his extensive design experience to create beekeeper-friendly wireless beehive monitors in a quest to better understand and sustain our precious bees. BroodMinder is an effort to collect global hive data from over 30,000 sensors into a public domain database, to be shared with bee lovers everywhere.
