Kathy Clay

Master Beekeeper

Raised on a farm in Illinois, Kathy Clay served 20 years in the fire service holding the title of Battalion

Chief Fire Marshal for Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and is now retired, back on a farm along the Wyoming/Idaho border.

Clay’s passion for bees began when she and her husband Mike bought the 80 acre property which they cut for hay. This is her sixth year of keeping bees. She holds a Master Beekeeping certificate from both the University of Montana and Great Plains Master Beekeeping/University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Clay enjoys providing educational presentations to others about the benefits of beekeeping, practicing trial and error with her five hives, and celebrating the fruits of the industrious honey bee’s labor.
